Greetings ! (2008)
We have finally come up with a name for our web site - "Trawlers Rock!" Now, this takes on two different meanings, Trawlers Rock :) or Trawlers Rock :( Once we begin our travel journals, this will be the system by which we rate the day: Trawlers Rock :) = great day, Trawlers Rock :( = the Trawler actually was doing allot of rocking !!!!
When we started our boating adventures together 15 years ago, Jon immediately took control. After several outings where Jon would rattle off directives to Susan, one day Susan asked Jon what their official roles/titles were when on board. Jon quickly replied that he was the Captain. Jon then continued to explain that if it was just Susan and him, Susan would be the "First Mate" however, if anyone else was on board, Susan may then become "Crew". Susan pondered over Jon's explanations, then asked Jon, "Who is the Admiral?" Jon responded, "We do not have Admiral," to which Susan promptly responded, "Well, we do now !"
Below is a picture of our boat, "Sundance." We bought her in February, 2008 in Palm Coast, Fl. After non stop work from February of 2008 to May of 2008, Jon and our friend and neighbor Harold from Palm Coast, took Sundance on her first shake down cruise form Palm Coast to Harwich Port, MA. We fondly refer to Sundance as our $1.00 horse with a $10.00 saddle. Presently Sundance is hauled and is having a new bow thruster installed, and then she will start her journey back south from Harwich Port to Palm Coast at the end of September 2008.
Sundance is a 1979 Marine Trader sedan trawler, 36 feet long.
Our goal is to use this site to update our friends and family on our travels and life events - so enjoy !!!!!
