Trawlers Rock
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines.
Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

Day 18, Sat. March 26, 2009

9:00 AM

We decided to move over to Banana Bay Marina, but the wind has been too high for us to get out of here.  As I mentioned earlier we are in a very narrow marina and do not even have a boat length to maneuver. Again today, it is blowing 20 with gust to 25 so again, we may wait to go.

We have checked out several other restaurants, Frosty’s and Porky’s.  One great thing about Marathon, is that allot of the restaurants are right on the water. If the food is not the best – it is well compensated for by the beautiful views.

We have been doing serious boat projects like stringing colored lights all over the boat, rearranging the deck furniture etc……

Last night, we went to Jim and Kathy’s for cocktails, then to a play called the Company.  It was cute, and all of the actors are local volunteers.

We will be heading off to the local farm market today to stock up for the week, and watching the wind to see if lays down at all so we can move.

Day 19, Sun. March 27, 2009

5:00 PM

We have moved !!  We are now at the Banana Bay Marina – right next door to Jim and Kathy.  Jim and Kathy just happen to also be our next door neighbors in Palm Coast for those of you who do not know them.

Yesterday AM we were entertained for over an hour by two huge manatees that showed up next to our boat and ate the algae off the dock and lines that were hanging in the water. Yesterday we drove around and stopped at interesting little shops, then ate lunch at the Island restaurant which was right on the water with a great view.  Last night we grilled filets on the boat, then watched the sunset.

We moved over at 8:00 AM, and the winds started back up en route. We arrived and tucked in with no problems.  We then had walk back to Blackfin to get our bicycles. We then walked back over to Blackfin with Crew to get the car.  We went for a Sunday AM drive just to take in the beautiful scenery of miles of turqouise water.

Once back we ate steamed shrimp with bloody mary’s on our “porch” then hit the pool.  We then went to the little beach at the marina and Crew took to swimming like a little minnow.  It was fun to watch him testing the water, then finally take the plunge.  Jim, Jon and Crew went out in the dinghies to explore – I napped.

We are planning on rib night tonight at Hurricanes, then tomorrow off to the big beach on the ocean side !

8:00 AM

I obviously have no idea what day it because I thought today was March 29, and Jon just informed me it was March 31. Not that I did not believe him, but I switched over to our home page just to double check, and sure enough it is March 31st – I would love to know what I did on the two days I am missing……

Yesterday AM we brought Crew back to the vet because he has what looks like a stye on his lower eye lid.  The vets checked it and said to keep an eye on it.  He is now up to 16.2 pounds eeckkk…..

We then cruised around for a bit.  We are trying to research marinas for next year.  We love we where are now at Banana Bay resort, but they are already booked for next year and we are on a waiting list.

We then did some shopping.  Kathy, Crew and I then drove to the beach, and Jim and Jon drove their dinghy’s over.  Once they arrived – it took over an hour, Kathy, Crew and I hopped on the dinghy’s we went exploring. Jon’s dinghy is slower that Jim’s – Jim offered to look at Jon’s engine – I have a feeling Jon will go buy an engine bigger that Jim’s – Jim of course said he promptly will go buy an engine bigger that Jon’s – boys will be boys.

Last night we went to the No Name restaurant on No Name key.  It is a place you need to know about or you would never know it existed.  It was well worth the trip – the pizza was double delish !!

Today, as of now remains an open slate.  If I figure out what we did on the two days I am missing – I will update accordingly.
