Back by popular demand, okay, my grandma's request - here I am - ta da - Crew !!!!!
If you have followed me through the many years - 49 to be exact (7 in your years) you know I LOVE boating !!
Well, today is Easter Sunday - I was loving this. We arrived at the Seven Seas marina in Daytona nice and early so I would have plenty of time to get the lay of the land. I was quite enjoying myself. A bunny - that you may also know as the "Easter Bunny" left me an awesome Easter basket. Wonderful right ? Well, wonderful until my mom pulled out these stupid bunny ears and made me wear them. I sure hope none of my friends see those pictures - I will be the butt of all of their jokes. Don't get me wrong, as all dogs know, we love butts - it's our favorite form of greeting each other if you get my sniff ...... any how, back to my task at hand - marina evaluations.......
Seven Seas Marina - Daytona - 3 wags
We only stayed here for one night because we had to get our boat hauled to have the bow thruster fixed. I am not sure why we needed the bow thruster fixed because if I were the captain instead of Crew, I would not need it....... I kind of like here because there is no one else around on their boats, but there was no one for me to play with either. The docks are fixed so it got a little tense getting on and off the boat, but I am quite an accomplished jumper ( as long as Dad is helping me a bit) and I managed. There is really nowhere to run around and play unless you are on your leash. There is a busy street with sidewalks right in front so I got to take my mom on some long walks. Our slip was right in the open which I loved until it got windy at night and we were rocking and rolling. Even though I have great sea legs, the water kept slapping on the boat, and I did not get my usual 18 hours of sleep. I think there lots of other places I would rather be, but if you are here for one night to get your boat worked on - it would be OK.
New Smyrna City Marina - 5 wags
This is the first marina I ever stayed out when I was a pup ! I have fond memories of this ol' joint. They have floating docks here - check one - easy off and on the boat for me ! Speaking of easy on and off, when we docked I could not wait to get off because the nice lady who came to lasso us in told me she had treats for me at her office - I said no way - and she said you bet !!! Woo hoo !! treats ! check two. Sure enough she had treats and gave mom some info. about the area. I think this whole town loves dogs, because when I took mom and dad for a walk, we stopped at a restaurant - the Corkscrew. they gave us our own outside table tucked away in the corner. The best part is my parents got a little glass with their drink in it, I got a whole HUGE bowl !!!!! Ha ha see - it pays to be handsome and dog in this town !! If you don't want to go for a long walk, there is a park right across the street.
Cocoa Village Marina - 4.5 wags
This is another one of my old stand bys. You will never believe this, but again, we are met by a lady who told me to come see her in her office and she would give me treats, and true to her word - she gave me, count em - three treats ! Right next to the office is an area for a quick walk and "business" stop. Right around the corner is an area you could dip your toes into the water if you want, but I hate water......... If you like to walk, there is a great walking town, and my favorite part is a big park down by the water. everyone here is super nice, and they like dogs. The only part that keeps them from being perfect is that the docks are fixed, and this can be a little tricky at times for getting on an off the boat.
Ft. Pierce City Marina - 5 wags
The Rendezvous is here, the rendezvous is here !!!! If you want to have some fun, you have got to have your parents take you to a rendezvous, and this year we were at the Ft. Pierce City Marina which is wonderful !!!!!! I was here along time ago, and they only had fixed docks. Now, they have brand spanky new floating docks with wide fingers that make it easy to jump off and on and your boat. They also have really wide docks so you don't worry about falling into the water when you are strolling on them. There is allot of activity here, farmer's market, tiki bar where they play music and make all of these really great smells for sniffing. There is a park across the street for walking, and best of all, lots of other dogs. I hope this is not too personal, but I developed an itchy rash on my belly. My mom and dad walked me about a half mile away to the Holy Family Vets where I saw Dr O'Connor. I really liked him until he gave me shot, but I feel better now so I like him again. I was allowed in the marina office as long as I was on my very best behavior. Even though the lady was super nice, no treats to be found, I think she will need to work on that. I was extremely relaxed here except for the pelicans that I had to keep barking at to keep my mom and dad safe.
