Jon and I spent the weekend in NYC at the Bowery Hotel to attend the wedding of Jon's cousin's son - Rob to Sasha. We took the high speed train from Providence to NYC, a quick trip followed by another quick taxi ride to our hotel. Loved the Bowery Hotel, our room was a corner room with views everywhere !! Fri. PM was out walking about for cocktails at several different outside cafes. We returned to our room for a late dinner from room service, and dined with a spectacular view of the Empire State building all lit up - very amazing !! Sat. AM up bright and early and we walked 1,000 city blocks from our hotel to Central Park. Saw all the sights and enjoyed a huge street fair, central park going ons, radio city, carnegie hall, the textile district, the theater district, Times Square, Union Square - our feet were finally compaing so we went back to the hotel in time to revive and attend the beutiful wedding of Rob and Sasha held at the hotel. The reception featured one dramatic long table for seating accompanied by fantastic food and great dancing afterward ! Sunday up for a big relaxing Sunday breakfast, then we caught the train back to Providence by train. A perfect weekend getaway !
