April 9 -11, 2012
We finally got to meet our new grandson, Cade Everett Blake who was born on January 18, 2012. Barre had a business meeting back in Raleigh, so the family all flew to Raleigh from Portland Oregon. We drove eight hours up to Raleigh on Monday in time to go out to dinner. Tuesday was our official day to babysit while David and Barre worked. We decided our best chance of success was to spilt up, so Jon took Blake and I took Cade. Jon and Blake spent the day at the train station, the park, then the mall. When they got back to our hotel six hours later, Jon was ready for a nap, and Blake who is now 3 ½ was ready for round two. Cade and I spent the day together with me feeding, changing, and watching Cade smile, coo and giggle for hours. He has quite the personality and smiled even though his Gram had no idea what she was doing. We all rendezvoused for dinner at PF Changs, then Jon and Susan hit the hay at 8:30 ! Wed. AM we had a quick breakfast with everyone before they all headed out, then we jumped in the car and drove eight hours back to Palm Coast. Just a short time together, but we treasured every minute with our everyone !!!
