We were home for a couple of weeks from the MTOA rendezvous and then took another trip to central Florida to first see our ball player from last summer, Daniel Bradshaw when his school, LSU played Florida in Gainesville. We then headed off to Orlando to Universal Studios for three days via Micanopy. I have wanted to visit Micanopy to see the home if Marjorie Rawlings who wrote “The Yearling” and “Cross Creek.” We had a wonderful tour, and got lots of “inside scoop.”
We had a great time at Universal. We stayed on the property so you never had to wait in lines, and the water rides were a big delight in all of the heat. We tried different restaurants at night, and the whole trip was total R and R. On our way back we wound our way through Mt. Dora, one of our favorite little Florida towns.
