Our beautiful boy, Crew, was our faithful and loyal companion for 16 years. We would often joke that he had more friends than we did because no matter where we went, people would call out to greet him. Crew was a born a natural adventurer. At four months old Crew jumped on board our boat where he spent the next 2 months cruising and became hooked on boating. He cruised up and down the southern east coast and the waters of New England. He loved car rides and long walks. He loved to explore the cranberry bogs, and run chasing seagulls on the beach. He loved to play, whether it be playing ball or with his toys, and was always up for a good game of tug. He loved our glamping trips and camp fires. Crew loved to lay in the sunshine. Crew loved people and was a master at soliciting getting rubs from everyone he encountered. As the self appointed mayor of wherever he was, he made it his personal mission to meet and befriend everyone he met. He was a protector of us and our homes. He would climb into bed with us every night, and sometime during the night once he knew we were safe and asleep, he would get down to sleep in his own bed. Crew also fiercely protected us from the never ending presence of squirrels with his intimidating bark. Crew loved both Florida and Cape Cod, and always enjoyed his long car rides and hotel stays when he traveled back and forth. Crew loved to open presents, it did not matter if they were his or someone else’s. Crew loved his cookies and could hear the cookie jar open a mile away. Crew lived a wonderful and full life, and as long as he was with his us, he was happy. We feel so blessed that he was ours, and that we were his. God knew what he was doing when he helped us find each other. A little piece of our hearts are gone, but Crew will always bring a smile to us, as we hope he will do to all who knew him. We think Crew would like everyone to remember to wag their tails, give kisses often to the ones you love, and eat lots of cookies ……… It was a privilege to be your Mama, rest in love sweet boy……
