Maybe about day 22 ?
We spent yesterday making our way to Key Largo checking out potential marinas for next year. Our choice is to return here to Banana Bay – but we always feel more comfortable with a back up plan.
Wed. night we went to a new restaurant called Chapmans. It has a beautiful waterfront location with views of the setting sun behind the seven mile bridge – however, we sat at the bar due to an hour wait for a table for two. We then waited for a half hour for a cocktail, then an hour and half for our meal, which when it arrived, was the wrong order. We ended up there for two and half hours, the food was good, but we are not in a hurry to return.
This morning we carted Crew back to the vets for his eye. He now weighs 17.2 This is not amusing anymore, at this rate, lately he is gaining a pound a day – of course he has probably learned how to do this from mimicking me which is doubly not amusing …..
Kathy and I hit the Overseas highway shopping trail in the afternoon and did some damage to our retirement funds. We stopped back at the No Name and brought pizza home for dinner. After dinner Jon, Crew and I wandered down to the beach and watched the sunset with other marina neighbors – very fun and beautiful.
We have decided not leave now for another week so our new departure is 4/13. We realized we still have allot of things we want to do, so we thought we better start getting organized. We would like to go out fishing, take a bi plane ride, sail and snorkel, spend a day at Key West, and get a couple more beach days in, so we better get busy – getting busy !

10:00 AM
Yesterday’s big activity was going to Hurricanes for lunch with Jim and Kathy. Other highlights included happy hour at the Tiki Bar at the pool, sunset at the marina beach, a night time dinghy ride and then watching the space station fly overhead last night.
The only drawback here is that I am having a terrible time with internet connection – and an even harder time downloading pictures so I will do a batch as soon as I get a good connection till then….today looks like another day filled with overwhelming activity and excitement !

5:30 PM Day 25 or so…
We have established a nice routine with Crew. Crew clock gets us up – then we feed him and go for a walk. Jon and I then go up to the pool area where there is a continental breakfast every day. We have our mandatory fill of fuel AKA – coffee – then start on the day civilly.
We moved our boat to a slip right on the ocean side with a beautiful view… We took Sundance out on the water for short trip to loose some of the barnicles on the bottom of our boat. We then pulled in to the new slip and got the boat all organized again.
Yesterday Jon and I went for a too long bike ride, then it was a chore day – boat cleaning, laundry etc…..
Some of the pictures I included entertained me for hours. The first are of Mr and Mrs Manatee. They came to our boat and both floated on their backs while they drank water dripping down from the dock for over an hour. The next set is of the fish and lobsters that live here at the marina – it is like a living aquarium here every day.
This morning we brought Crew back to be weighed – gained almost a pound over the weekend. I then visited the local chiropractor for some cracking. We went to our usual Hurricane for lunch with Jim and Kathy. Our friends Barb and Bob and Andy and Jan stopped by for a visit this afternoon also.
Jim and Kathy have saved hours of my life by showing me how to re size all of the pics I download in a tenth of the time. Hopefully, this will also make downloading for anyone who looks at this site – if there is anyone – much quicker…….
