Sunday 1-4-15 Cocoa Village Marina - Cocoa
Somehow we were able to shift into high gear and get all of Christmas "stuff" down and put away, and actually set off yesterday on schedule. You would think after all of the years we have done this trip I would not have much to write about, and that is pretty much true…. We were scheduled to stop over at the New Smyrna Marina yesterday but when I called, even though they confirmed we had a reservation, they informed me they did not have slip - what ??!! Luckily we were able to sang the last slip at nearby Outriggers, bad news it was twice the price and Sat. with lots of rowdy revelers out about late into the evening.
We were up and off by 6:45 AM today. The forecast called for winds at 6 - 8 knots - should have figured they would be 20 with gusts to 25 - ugghhh……. We had a slow crawl down to Cocoa Village Marina between current and wind on our nose the entire trip. Had a wonderful dinner at a new restaurant, Sublime, consisting of a flight of there kinds of sangria, and a variety of tapas - big time yum !!! No rain in the forecast, but sure as sure, the minute we started to walk home we here hit with a torrential downpour ! What to do ? Well we took our shoes off and ran home in pouring rain laughing like we were kids again ! Too much fun !
If everything was perfect, boat does not break down, and we have good weather, we would arrive in Marathon on Friday 1/9/15. the chances of that are slim but we are off again tomorrow to Ft. Pierce.

Thurs.1-8-15 Turnberry Isle Marina Aventura
The week is flying by. Monday PM we were at the Ft Pierce Harborside Marina. It was honking at about 20 knots so the good news is they decided to put us on the face dock. Bad news, the face dock is on a river with a swift current, and he space we had to get into was only about 50 feet, with a catamaran in front of us with a 22 foot beam. Wind, current, small space - it was not pretty but we got in. Next stop was Palm Beach Marina. We were last there in 2010 when they first opened up and there were only about five boats there. We stayed there awhile due to boat issues. They were were packed with mega yachts and we were smaller than some of the yacht's tenders ! They had a 50 foot minimum, so it was a pricey stopover, but convenient. Yesterday we arrived at Turnberry Isle Marina. Again pricey because we are in north Miami. We got call from our dock master at Banana Bay requesting that we don't arrive till Sat., so we decided to lay over here again today. It was suppose to be blowing 20 to 25 today, but it was not as bad as predicted and we would have been good to go. We got the boat better organized then headed out to the Aventura Mall which is a small city. Antsy to get to Marathon and settle down, and so Jon can get back to Palm Cost to pick up Crew ! We left him at the sitter's because he is good on the boat, but not fun or easy to get up and down the ladder to the upper helm. If we leave him down he gets stress colitis which as you can imagine is not pretty ! Plan to get off early tomorrow AM and hoping for a smooth trip across the Biscayne Bay !

We arrived safe and sound at Banana Bay yesterday. It has been blowing our whole trip down, but it was uneventful other than loosing our bow thruster and in our world, that is a great trip ! This is our seventh year here at Banana Bay, and I don't anticipate a whole lot of new going ons - so I think I will just post some pics more that lots of blah, bah, blah…..
